Watch: Raging Fire Engulfs SPS Technologies in Abington Township

A massive fire broke out at late Monday night at the SPS Technologies warehouse on Highland Avenue in Abington Township, Pennsylvania. Firefighters are battling the blaze, and authorities have urged residents within a half-mile radius to avoid the area. Firefighters responded and arrived at the scene around 9:45 pm local time. Jeffrey Browne, the Ward 6 commissioner of Abington Township, issued a statement on Facebook. “Hey neighbors, if you haven’t heard already, there’s a huge fire at SPS Technologies on Highland Ave. I’m sure all of our local Abington Fire Companies are on call, including Edge Hill Fire Company.”

He added, “Please keep all of our brave first responders as well as any employees that were in the building in your thoughts and prayers, and please avoid the area!!”

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, multiple explosions were heard inside the warehouse.

SEPTA Services Down

The fire has caused disruptions on SEPTA near the Glenside station. . A post on X confirmed, “Service is suspended until further notice due to fire department activity near Glenside Station. Alternate service suggestions are available using the SEPTA Trip Planner.”

Multiple videos have surfaced online showing the big warehouse on fire. Large flames are burning the building and rising high into the air. The fire is reportedly just a few hundred feet away from residential homes and a sports field with baseball fields.
