Vice-president election: TRS to support opposition’s candidate Margaret Alva | Hyderabad News
The TRS has 16 MPs both in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

TRS parliamentary party leader K Keshava Rao issued a statement on Friday on the party’s decision. He said TRS president and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to support the opposition party candidate and directed the party MPs to vote in favour of Margaret Alva.
In the President of India elections, TRS had supported joint opposition parties’ candidate Yashwant Sinha and even organised a meeting as part of the campaign. But in case of vice-president elections, the party has not revealed its support till Friday, a day before the polling.
Party leaders even claimed that when Margaret Alva’s candidature was finalised, KCR was not consulted and not invited for the meeting. The party was also in a dilemma whether to support Margaret Alva as she is a Congress leader. Finally, the party took the decision to support the opposition parties’ candidate.
