Vehicle with ‘CMO and govt’ stickers creates flutter at Tirumala temple; TTD says no security lapse | Amaravati News

TIRUPATI: An incident at Tirumala temple on Tuesday caused a stir when an SUV with “CMO and govt” stickers went past the final security checkpoint and entered the four Mada streets.
This last security gate is the alighting point even for the protocol dignitaries who are allowed to enter the temple through the Mahadwaram instead of entering from the Vaikuntam Q complex.
Only the TTD vehicles linked to the temple, battery-operated vehicles for the elderly and the needy and certain emergency vehicles etc are allowed to pass through beyond this last gate which is located near the Vahana mandapam, opposite the Tirumala temple.
The driver of the vehicle went past the last security gate, took a U-turn and returned to the VVIP parking, after being told that vehicles are not allowed beyond that gate.
The driver of the vehicle said he did not see any guard present at the last gate.
He said when he arrived at the gate, there was no one there, so he drove past it. He was later informed that vehicles are prohibited on the four Mada streets, so he reversed his vehicle and returned to the parking area.
However, the TTD’s vigilance and security wing clarified that this was not at all a security lapse. They maintained that the said vehicle did not enter the four mada streets but only took a U-turn near the last gate and returned.
The TTD appealed to the devotees not to believe in misleading reports issued by some section of the media with vested interests.
