HYDERABAD: A short video about the poor quality of food served to a passenger travelling aboard Vande Bharat Express between Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad, went viral on Saturday, exposing Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) apathy.
The food quality came to light after a co-passenger shot a video of a passenger squeezing excess oil from a ‘vada’ served as breakfast by IRCTC, posted it on Twitter and tagged the IRCTC’s official Twitter handle.

The passenger clearly stated in the video that he had paid 120 for the breakfast.
IRCTC, which swiftly responded to the video, replied, “Concerned officials have been informed for corrective measures.”
When contacted, South Central Railways chief PRO Ch Rakesh said, “Action has been initiated against the agency which served the bad quality food to the passenger. We also imposed a penalty.”
