HYDERABAD: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will leave for Mumbai on Sunday morning to meet his counterpart and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as part of his plan to stitch together a non-Congress, non-BJP federal front ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election. Later in the day, KCR will also meet NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
TRS sources said K Chandrasekhar Rao will leave Hyderabad in a special flight at around 11 am along with Rajya Sabha MPs Keshava Rao and J Santosh Kumar, Telangana planning board chairman B Vinod Kumar and Lok Sabha MP G Ranjit Reddy among others.

KCR and Uddhav are expected to discuss the future course of action needed to put together a united fight against the BJP government at the Centre. “The main agenda is protecting the interests of states and preserving cooperative federalism. We believe BJP is trying to take over the powers of the states in every sphere which is not good for the country,” a TRS MP told STOI.
After meeting with Uddhav and Pawar in Mumbai, KCR is planning to meet Janata Dal (Secular) supremo and former PM Deve Gowda, TMC chief and chief minister Mamata Banerjee and other leaders. Sources said after the Telangana budget session in assembly in the first week of March, KCR will go to Delhi to mobilise support for his front.
“The TRS president is also keen on hosting a convention of all regional parties in Hyderabad if Mamata agrees to join hands,” a senior party leader said.
Both K Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS working president KT Rama Rao have been attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the past couple of months. The chief minister, who did not share the dais with Modi during the unveiling of Statue of Equality in Muchintal on the outskirts of Hyderabad in the first week of February, intensified his attack on the Prime Minister during two public meetings held in the state. He vowed to oust the BJP government at the Centre.
