TRS government neglected nomadic tribes in Telangana: Bandi Sanjay Kumar | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday demanded that the TRS government include nomadic tribes in the most backward category (MBC) saying that he had also become a member of nomadic tribes while undertaking the padayatra across the state.
Interacting with representatives of various nomadic tribes in Chitakoduru village in Jangaon district, Sanjay said the TRS government was not extending welfare benefits to these tribes because they were not included in SC, ST or MBC communities. “For the last 200 years, we have been struggling to make ends meet. We were treated like robbers by the British and we are still looked down upon today. Even after the formation of Telangana, our fate has not changed. We have not benefited from any scheme implemented by the state govt. We eke out a living by selling bangles, beads and baskets by going around from village to village,” they said.
Sanjay said the totalnumber of nomadic tribes in state is around 30 lakh. “The only way to solve all of your problems is to depose the KCR government in Telangana and install a BJP government,” he added.
