People carry two-km-long national flag in Khammam on Saturday

HYDERABAD: Thousands of people from all walks of life marched in the streets of Khammam carrying a two-km-long national flag, believed to be the longest in the country, on Saturday. As many as 10,000 people participated in the freedom run flagged off by transport minister P Ajay Kumar, in connection with the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence.
In Sangareddy too, a similar rally was organised by holding 750-meter-long Tricolour. A large number of people participated in the rally that was flagged off by finance and health minister T Harish Rao. He urged everyone to join in the mass singing of the national anthem at 11.30 am on August 16.
Meanwhile, a 300-meter flag was displayed during the freedom run in Siddipet.
