Telangana Rains: Heavy rain continues to wreak havoc in north Telangana | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: No respite in sight for north Telangana as heavy to very heavy rain continued to lash, increasing the threat of flash floods in the region.
In the last 24-hour period, 39cm of rainfall was recorded in the Jainoor area in Asifabad region followed by Kerameri with 38cm of rainfall.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert warning for several districts which will receive heavy to extremely heavy rain in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal (Rural), Warangal (Urban), Janagaon districts.
The flash flood risk advisory has also been issued for the next 24 hours across the north Telangana region owing to fully saturated soil.
The risk of surface run-off and risk to low-lying areas has now been described as “moderate to high risk” by the Met department.
