Telangana HC allows Bharat Mata rally with conditions | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Justice T Vinod Kumar of Telangana HC on Saturday heard a house motion moved by AV Prashanth of Neredmet in Malkajgiri and directed police to accord permission to celebrate Chatrapati Sivaji birth anniversary celebrations on February 19 in the city.
The petitioner in his plea said that every year they conduct a ‘Bharat Mata’ rally led by a decorated truck. The rally is followed by two-wheelers and other vehicles also.
Home department’s counsel M Roopender said the authorities had rejected the permission on grounds it would cause inconvenience to people and that it has the potential to trigger communal trouble. The judge imposed certain conditions and directed police to accord permission.
The conditions set are that participants should not cross 300 and they should move in an orderly fashion. The rally, between Shaikpet and Yusufguda, must begin and end between 8:30am and 12.30pm. No provocative speeches or bursting of crackers are allowed. tnn
