Telangana Congress to protest against ED summons to Sonia Gandhi | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: The Congress will hold a peaceful rally from Indira Gandhi statue at Necklace road to the enforcement directorate office at Basheerbagh on July 21 in protest against AICC president Sonia Gandhi being summoned for questioning by the ED authorities in New Delhi.
Telangana Congress working presidents Anjan Kumar Yadav and J Geetha Reddy along with party seniors charged Prime minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government of intentionally targeting the Nehru-Gandhi family to malign their image. “The Nehru-Gandhis have a great history of giving their life and properties for the country. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their lives. Sonia Gandhi sacrificed the post of Prime minister”, they said.
The Congress members will also hold dharnas in front of Central government offices in the state on July 22. Anjan and Geetha Reddy called upon the party cadres and leaders to participate in large numbers.
“While the BJP is dividing the nation through its religious-hatred politics, AICC leader Rahul Gandhi is taking up the bharat jodu yatra to promote our rich culture and tradition of unity in diversity, secularism and democracy,” Geetha Reddy said.
