Telangana budget to be presented on February 6 or 7 | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: The budget session of the Telangana legislative assembly and council will convene from February 3 with governor Tamilisai Soundararajan‘s address.
Finance minister T Harish Rao is likely to present the state budget on February 6 or 7 as the assembly has to discuss and pass a motion thanking the governor for her address. Earlier, the government planned to present the budget on the first day (February 3) of the session itself.
Since the assembly and council were not prorogued, assembly secretary on Tuesday issued a notification as continuation of earlier sessions. Tamilisai had last addressed the legislative assembly in 2019.
Legislative council chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy said: “I hope there will not be any problems during Tamilisai’s address like in Tamil Nadu where the governor had omitted some portions of the speech approved by the Tamil Nadu cabinet.”
