telangana: BJP has lost moral right to seek votes in Telangana after Modi’s comments: Congress MP A Revanth Reddy | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy has said the BJP has lost the moral right to seek votes from the people of Telangana after Prime Minister Narendra Modi insulted Telangana martyrs and also spit venom at Telangana state by finding fault with the process of Telangana state formation.
Revanth also alleged that while the Congress members protested Modi’s remarks on state formation in Rajya Sabha, the TRS MPs did not even support the Congress’s protest, leave alone of condemning PM’s remarks on Telangana state formation process.
“There seems to be a tacit understanding between TRS and BJP as neither chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, ministers K T Rama Rao and Harish Rao, MLC K Kavitha and MP J Santosh Kumar, in person participated in burning of the effigies of PM Modi for hurting the sentiments of Telangana people,” Revanth said.
Revanth also said that the Congress members will not allow PM Modi to step into Telangana state until he apologises in both the Houses of Parliament for insulting and hurting the sentiments of people of Telangana.
“Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay and MP D Arvind should take up the responsibility of persuading PM Modi to tender unconditional apology to the people of Telangana,” Revanth demanded.
Both Bandi Sanjay and D Arvind should introspect why they should continue to be in the Narendra Modi-led BJP. He also found fault with CM KCR for not responding to PM Modi’s comments on Telangana state formation process in the Parliament.
Telangana Congress senior vice president G Niranjan said the speech of CM KCR in Jangaon public meeting has left the people as they were expecting a fitting reply to PM Modi on his statement on Telangana state formation process.
“It is astonishing that KCR, who speaks of self- respect of Telangana all the time, has not responded to PM Modi’s comments which hurt the sentiments of Telangana people. It exposes the internal understanding between PM Modi and CM KCR,” Niranjan alleged.
