Telangana: Air Marshal Manavendra Singh visits Air Force Station in Begumpet | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Air Marshal Manavendra Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, on Saturday said the Indian Air Force (IAF) was being transformed into one of the most potent air forces in the world.
On a visit to Air Force Station Begumpet, he was received by Group Captain Sunil Tomar, Station Commander, AFS Begumpet. A ‘Guard of Honour’ was presented to the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief by the Air Warriors of Air Force Station Begumpet. A Hollow Square was organized by the station personnel.
In his address, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief said the emphasis was on training in the IAF and exhorted IAf personnel to maintain service ethos, high standard of discipline, physical fitness including ensuring the wellbeing of their families.
Air Marshal Manavendra Singh is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the flying branch of Indian Air Force on Dec 29, 1982 as a helicopter pilot. In a distinguished career spanning nearly 39 years, the Air Officer has flown a wide variety of helicopters and trainer aircraft. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor with vast instructional experience and over 6600 hours of accident free flying in various challenging sectors like the Siachen, the Northeast, Uttarakhand, the Western desert and Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is also an alumni of Defence Services Staff College Wellington, Joint Forces Staff College (USA) and Army War College, Mhow.
