Share price of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. jumps as Sensex gains 221.3 points

The share price of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. gained 1.85 per cent to Rs 2973.0 at 10:05AM (IST) in Tuesday’s trade. The counter has hit a high of Rs 3005.85 and low of Rs 2940.0 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 2919.05 in the previous session.

The counter has had a total traded volume of 7161 shares so far with a value of Rs 2.13 crore on the NSE. It traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 205.37 and a price-to-book ratio of 4.74.

A higher price-to-earnings ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

The price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and reflects the price investors are willing to pay even for no growth in the business.

The scrip gained 149.98 per cent during the past one year, while the 30-share index advanced 71.03 per cent during the same period.

The firm reported consolidated net sales of Rs 2765.34 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2020, down 0.24 per cent from the previous quarter’s Rs 2772.04 crore and down 5.34 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 2921.4 crore.

Profit for the latest quarter stood at Rs 130.45 crore, up 41.58 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.
