Rural water supply engineer in ACB net in Andhra Pradesh | Visakhapatnam News


VIZIANAGARAM: An engineer working with the rural water supply (RWS) department was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while he was accepting a bribe from a village sarpanch.
Sources said that junior engineer K Dhanunjaya of Bondapalli Mandal had demanded M Kothavalasa sarpanch K Srinivasa Rao, for Rs 25,000 to release the pending bills of Rs.1,38,000.
Vexed with the attitude of the engineer, the sarpanch approached the ACB cops, who laid the trap. The Sarpanch on Tuesday handed over Rs. 20,000 at engineer’s residence in Vuda colony of Vizianagaram city. While he was handing over the money, ACB cops caught the engineer red-handed and registered a case after arresting him.
