HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced 5 lakh financial grant to every poor family in the state to construct houses as against 3 lakh promised by the BRS government, and appealed to them to bring back the glorious “Indiramma Rajyam“.
“You gave two terms to KCR-led BRS who claimed to have achieved statehood. How many terms does the Congress deserve for having actually given Telangana despite knowing that it would be wiped out in residuary AP? Give an opportunity to the Congress and bring back the glorious Indiramma Rajyam,” Revanth said, while addressing a public meeting in Warangal East constituency as part of his padayatra.
Reiterating promises if the party is voted to power, he said, “We will abolish and wipe out belt shops (extension of wine shops). I promise to strip naked any Congressman who sets up a belt shop after Congress is voted to power,” he said.
Revanth appealed to the people to bless Konda couple (former MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao and former minister Konda Surekha). The Konda couple will get the same importance in the future Congress government as they had during the YSR-led Congress government, Revanth told the gathering. Former minister Konda Surekha appealed to the people to vote Congress to power and facilitate Revanth to become the CM.
