‘Raw deal for Telangana in rail budget’ | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman and former MP B Vinod Kumar said gross injustice was done to the state in the railway budget as no new railway lines have been sanctioned and no funds granted.
Vinod said the Centre did not provide any details on the extent of land required for railway wagon manufacturing unit at Kazipet. If the railways seek the land, the state government was ready to provide the land, he said.
“Before asking for the land, the Centre should clarify how much fund is being allocated to the wagon manufacturing unit and also how many jobs are being created to the locals,” he said. Vinod demanded railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to give clarity on the railway projects to Telangana as promised in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
In the budget, there was no mention about ongoing railway line works and Nizamabad-Armoor and Adilabad railway lines, Vinod said.
