Raja Singh served fresh police notice for Mumbai hate speech | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh has been issued a show-cause notice by Mangalhat police for his alleged provocative speech in Mumbai recently in violation of high court conditions while quashing the Preventive Detention (PD) case earlier against him.
The suspended BJP MLA has been given two days to respond. After the police action, Raja Singh released a video to the media stating that he was not afraid of notices. “We have been demanding a law against love jihad, cow slaughter and religious conversions from the state and central governments.
Why should police bother about the event which was held in Maharashtra,” Raja Singh said, while vowing to continue fight to protect ‘dharma’. Earlier, on January 29, Raja Singh had addressed a crowd during ‘Janakrosh Morcha’ at Dadar in Mumbai and the notice was sent to his house on January 30.
In the notice, police mentioned that PD Act was invoked against the MLA in August last year after his controversial remarks against Prophet Muhammed.
He was subsequently suspended by the BJP. The MLA was finally released in November after the HC quashed the PD case. But while freeing him, the HC had imposed certain conditions including that he would in future not make any provocative speeches against any religion or post any derogatory or offensive posts on any social media platforms.
“But on January 29 your speech during ‘Janakrosh Morcha’ at Dadar was circulating in social media. In the video your speech is very much provocative to a particular community regarding demands of laws on love jihad, cow slaughter, conversion and a few other words.
Your speech with potential to provoke a particular religion is violation of conditions imposed by the HC,” Mangalhat police stated. Mangalhat inspector N Ravi told TOI, “We have asked the MLA to explain why action should not be initiated against him for violating the conditions imposed by the HC.”
