Protect the dignity of the assembly by ensuring assurances made in the House are implemented: Akbaruddin Owaisi | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Wednesday congratulated chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the mega recruitment decision and expressed hopes that 91,142 posts would be filled up.
“I hope this announcement does not end up as some of the earlier assurances made from the floor of this House which are yet to be implemented. A few members were suspended for coming into the well of the House and this was done to protect the dignity and sanctity of the House. But what about the assurances made from this august house and not implemented,” Owaisi asked?
While terming the state budget 2022-23 as impressive and progressive during the discussion on the budget in the Assembly, Owaisi urged the Speaker to protect the sanctity of the House by ensuring that the assurances made in the Assembly are implemented.
He said the properties of the Wakf Board are continuing to be plundered even in the present TRS government as was the case in the previous Congress and TDP governments in the combined state.
“What happened to the assurance of a CID inquiry into Wakf properties encroachments. Though AIMIM and TRS are friendly parties, I am questioning the government because the people in turn are questioning us. The AIMIM is answerable to the people. Please take my speech as a constructive criticism,” Owaisi said while exuding confidence that TRS will storm back to power for a third time in a row, along with its friendly party AIMIM.
. Stating that GHMC is in a huge financial crisis due to lack of support from the state government which is not even paying property tax on its buildings to the civic body, Owaisi urged the TRS government to spend the loans obtained by the government on infrastructure projects and not just the welfare schemes.
The outstanding debts of the state government have crossed Rs 3.29 lakh crore due to lack of support from the centre. “The AIMIM’s stand that Centre is discriminating against Telangana has been vindicated. We are happy that the TRS has realised it and has taken a firm stand against the BJP government at the centre at least now,” he said.
Listing out non-implementation of schemes and delay in releasing the budget, he appealed to the TRS government to do justice to the Muslims by extending all the benefits on par with SCs and STs until 12 per cent reservations are extended to them.
