klm: Reopening of skies: Emirates to operate 179 weekly flights to 9 Indian cities from April 1; AF-KLM decides ramp-up
LUCKNOW: As India resumes scheduled international flights from Sunday (March 27) after a gap of over two years, more foreign airlines are announcing their plans for the country. Indian carriers are yet to share their international schedule details for the post-reopening.
Emirates, the biggest foreign airline in terms of flights to and from India, will be restoring the pre-pandemic schedule of flights. From April 1, the mega carrier will operate 170 weekly flights between Dubai and nine Indian cities. Scheduled international flights will resume in India after a two-year gap from Sunday (March 27).
Emirates says it will be operating the following flights:
Mumbai- 35 weekly; Delhi- 28 weekly; Bengaluru– 24; Chennai and Hyderabad- 21 weekly each; Kochi- 14; Kolkata – 11; Ahmedabad- 9 and Thiruvananthapuram- 7.
Emirates has brought back its Airbus A380 on a daily basis between Dubai and Mumbai in March 2022.
Air France-KLM said in a statement they will “progressively increase flight operations from India. Starting with 20 weekly flights in April and expand frequency in May with 30 weekly flights. Air France will operate from 4 gateways; Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai and KLM from Delhi and Mumbai.
Customers will have access to destinations across the global network of Air France – KLM with convenient connections via Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam.”
Virgin Atlantic says it will launch a second daily service between London Heathrow and Delhi from June 1, 2022. “Coupled with its service from Mumbai, Virgin Atlantic will offer three daily flights from India making it the airline’s biggest flying programme ever to India,’ the airline said in a statement.
