Hyderabad to be headquarter for all judicial data in country; may get NCLT tribunal | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad will soon be the headquarters for all judicial data in the country as the National Judicial Data Centre is set to come up here. With several states vying for it, Chief Justice of India N V Ramana on Friday tilted the balance in favour of Hyderabad. The CJI also revealed that Hyderabad may house the appellate tribunal for National Company Law Tribunals (NCLTs) in Telangana and AP.
Thanking the HC advocates association and bar council for the big felicitation accorded to him on Friday, the CJI also conveyed his desire to do something for young advocates during his tenure by setting up a training academy that would also support them in their initial days.
“If the state and other institutions extend their support, I would give the final shape to it during my tenure,” he said.
The CJI called upon advocates, bar council and bar associations to help reduce the burden of cases on judiciary and to promote alternate dispute redressal methods such as arbitration, mediation and conciliation.
Justice Ramana also called upon senior judges to keep in view the diversity of regions, communities etc. , while recommending names of judges for HC. “Several people criticised me saying that I was provoking women to revolt and that I was promoting revolution. If asking people to fight for what is due to them is revolution, then I don’t mind promoting it again. By the end of May, I am planning to send 200 proposals to make deserving advocates as judges,” he said.
Going down the memory lane, the CJI recalled his days at the HC when he practised as an advocate in Hyderabad. Advocate General BS Prasad, bar association president Ashok Goud and others spoke after felicitating the CJI.
