Hyderabad Police serve notice to Congress’s election strategist Sunil Kanugolu | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Nearly two weeks after the Hyderabad police conducted a raid on the office of Congress’s war room, the investigators on Tuesday served notice to its election strategist Sunil Kanugolu.
Earlier, the police had accused Sunil and his social media team of spreading morphed videos on their adversaries.
The cyber crime sleuths in their notice said that,”On the complaint of R Samrat, a case was registered on December 24. It is revealed that there are reasonable grounds to question you to ascertain facts and circumstances from you in relation to the present investigation.” He was asked to appear for questioning on Friday.
After conducting a raid at an office at Madhapur on December 14, police had alleged that the office was being operated secretly and they have not put up any board. From the office, nearly 60 members were allegedly creating different videos and photos by morphing the photos of alleged political opponents of the Congress party.
Police during a press conference also played those videos, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao were also figured. At the time of the raid, three persons were taken into custody and they were let off after serving them notice. But based on their confession, Sunil was served the notice.
“Failure to attend/comply with the terms of the notice can render you liable for arrest under section 41(A) (3) and (4) of the CRPC,” the notice read.
