HYDERABAD: Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) activists on Sunday tried to storm HICC, Madhapur, where BJP’s national executive committee meeting was underway, but were stopped and taken into custody by police personnel on bandobust duties.
On seeing the nearly 15 protesters, who were raising slogans and carrying banners, police took them into preventive custody and immediately shifted into police vehicles. They were later released. They were stopped at Metal Charminar.
MRPS activists have been demanding that the BJP government take a decision on categorisation of SCs.
Similarly, TRS-affiliated student organisation tried to take out a rally from Osmania University (OU) to Parade Grounds to protest against the BJP-led government’s alleged failure in supporting the demands of the Telangana government.
They too were stopped and taken into custody.
