Hyderabad: ED conducts raids on casino dealers and agents for FEMA violations | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is carrying out raids on casino dealers and agents in eight locations in Hyderabad for violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Local agents — Madhav Reddy, Pravin Chikoti, and others in Hyderabad — have allegedly been organising high-stakes gaming events in Nepal.
The ED found several hawala transactions during the searches.
The Times of India reported on May 24 2022 on the hawala racket.

Reacting to this, the ED has conducted searches across the city, including the residence of Madhav Reddy at Bowenpally.
THe agents are organising special flights from Shamshabad airport to Bagdogra airport and organised ‘All In” in Casino Vegas by Big Daddy at Hotel Mechi Crown Jhapa.
The event was organised in the town located near Siliguri on the Indo-Nepal Border from June 10 to June 13.

The ED found that gambling rackets were operating from Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and Nellore.
In the four day package the gambler has to pay Rs 3 lakh for flight charges, food, hotel stay, drinks and entertainment.
Apart from Nepal, Thailand’s Pukhet island is another destination.
The gamers play Teen Patti and Andar Baha, Roulette, Marriage, Baccarat. Dancers were organised with Tollywood, Bollywood and Nepali dancers. Winners are paid in hawala transactions the ED found.
