Hyderabad cop led juveniles to commit theft, sacked | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: A suspended constable on Tuesday was officially dismissed from service for allegedly ‘maintaining gangs’ including minor children in the city and other areas.
The constable Mekala Eshwar allegedly headed a gang of thieves which also included minors. According to police, Eshwar befriended nine alleged thieves, including three juvenile offenders and facilitated in committing of cell phone thefts across Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Miryalaguda to earn money illegally.
Eshwar was earlier arrested when he was previously working in the Task Force, West Zone by the Nalgonda police and a case under relevant sections of IPC and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015.
The dismissal orders were issued by Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand and further departmental action was initiated against three inspectors – Y Ajay Kumar, Sai Venkat Kishore of SR Nagar PS and T Srinath Reddy from West Zone. Cops said the inspectors had developed a close association with the constable in many of his illegal activities.
