Hyderabad: Congress holds rally to protest against ED notices on Gandhi family | Hyderabad News

Telangana Congress leaders took out a huge rally and staged a dharna in front of Enforcement Directorate office on Monday.

HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy on Monday said the downfall of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP has started as people are suffering due to increasing prices of essential commodities, LPG gas, petrol, diesel and highest rate of unemployment in the country.
“Even the BJP seems to have realised that its downfall has started. It is due to the scare of getting defeated at the hands of the Congress in 2024-Lok Sabha polls that the Modi-government is trying to tarnish the image of the Gandhi family. The BJP government is behind issuing of notices on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate,” Revanth alleged.
The Congress members led by Revanth Reddy took out a huge rally from Indira Gandhi statue at Necklace Road and staged a protest near the office of the Enforcement Directorate in Basheerbagh.
They raised slogans and continued their protest near ED office, from the time Rahul Gandhi went inside the ED office in Delhi where he was grilled in the National Herald alleged money laundering case and till the time he came out of the office. Consequently, the Congress members dispersed from the ED office in the city.
The Congress got police permission for the rally at the last moment. Similar rallies were held in other states by respective state Congress units.
Stating that the Gandhi family do not need any posts or money, and all they want is to serve the people, Revanth said crores of Congress cadres will stand by the Gandhi-family members and will not tolerate if any harm is caused to Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi. “We are protesting peacefully because we are the successors of Mahatma Gandhi,” Revanth said.
Stating that Sonia Gandhi is revered by many as the Goddess who gave Telangana state, the TPCC chief said cases were also foisted against Indira Gandhi but she came back strongly to defeat her rivals. “Even Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi-led Congress will defeat the Modi-led BJP in 2024 with the help of the support of the people,” Revanth said.
Congress tops guns Bhatti Vikramarka, T Jayaprakash Jagga Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, D Anasuya (Sitakka), Md Ali Shabbir, A Maheshwar Reddy, Sunitha Rao, Mahesh Kumar Goud, G Chinna Reddy, Bose Raju among others participated in the rally-cum-dharna.
