Taapsee Pannu, who was in London for the premiere of her upcoming film Dobaaraa, is ready to resume the shooting for Shabaash Mithu. In an Instagram post on Monday, Taapsee spoke about “picking up the bat again” for the upcoming sports drama. “Bye bye London. See you very very soon,” she wrote and added, “Until then…Time to pick up the bat again. Shabaash Mithu calling.” The monochrome photo shows Taapsee in a white outfit from the shelves of Dorothee Schumacher and looking out of the window of what appears to be a car.

For the Dobaaraa premiere in the UK, Taapsee Pannu was joined by her co-star Pavail Gulati and their director Anurag Kashyap. Take a look the post:

Taapsee Pannu plays the role of legendary cricketer Mithali Raj, who has now retired from all forms of international cricket, in the Srijit Mukherji-directed film but more on that later.

Taapsee Pannu had a whole lot of fun with team Dobaaraa in London. On Sunday, she posted a bunch of pictures of herself with the rest of the team from the screening and panel discussion and wrote, “Our day 2 in the UK looked like.” She looks stunning in a grey pantsuit in the images.

After the premiere of Dobaaraa at the London Film Festival, Taapsee Pannu expressed gratitude to the film’s “first-ever audience” with these words, “Last night here in London… Thank you for all the love to Dobaaraa by its first-ever audience.” In the photos, she can be seen posing on the red carpet and discussing the film with Anurag Kashyap and Pavail Gulati, among others.

Taapsee Pannu is quite excited to bring the story of Mithali Raj onscreen. The cricketer announced her retirement on June 9. And a day before, Taapsee dedicated a post to her in a really iconic way. Sharing a photo of herself and Mithali, the actress stated some of the milestones achieved by the cricketer. Her note read, “Youngest ODI captain for Indian cricket Team. The only Indian cricketer to captain the team in 4 world cups and reach finals twice! Youngest cricketer to score 200 in a test match. Highest scoring Indian cricketer in the debut international match. The only Indian cricketer to score 7 consecutive 50s in ODI. 23 years from hustle to glory.”

“Some personalities and their achievements are gender agnostic. You changed the game, now it’s our turn to change the perspective! Etched in history, our captain forever, Mithali Raj. On to the next innings of life,” she added.

A few days later, Taapsee Pannu and the makers released the trailer of Shabaash Mithu. Check it out here:

The film will release in theatres on July 15.
