Guntur civic body’s Dandi March statues inspire people and officials: Andhra Pradesh government advisor | Amaravati News


AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has lauded Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) for installing the statues of freedom fighters.
He said that statues dedicated to the Dandi march freedom fighters will remain an inspiration for the public and officials.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy along with municipal administration minister Dr Adimulapu Suresh inaugurated the statues in Amaravati on Thursday.
Addressing a meeting, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the GMC had become a role model for other urban civic bodies in the state by designing the statues in Dandi satyagraha as it played a very big role in converting India’s freedom struggle into a mass movement.
He said Mahatma Gandhi inspired millions of people across the castes, religions, regions and languages.
He said chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s ward/village secretariat concept was inspired by Mahatma’s Grama Swaraj.
He said they were taking all measures for the overall development of Guntur, Vijayawada and Mangalagiri cities located close to the legislative capital city.
He said that the government was committed to develop all the three regions with a three capital cities model.
He patted the GMC mayor Manohar Naidu and commissioner Chekuri Keerthi for taking up the Dandi march freedom fighters statues project.
He said statues located close to the National Highway had added beauty to the city.
