Goods train derails on KK line in Andhra Pradesh | Visakhapatnam News
VISAKHAPATNAM: Eight wagons of a goods train, loaded with iron ore, were derailed in the early hours of Thursday while it was coming from Bacheli towards Kottavalasa at Sivalingapuram Yard in Andhra Pradesh.
The railway officials said the accident occurred before tunnel 7 at around 6.25am in the Sivalingapuram-Boddavara section of Kottavalas-Kirandulline.
A total of eight loaded wagons were derailed.
After learning this, Waltair Division Railway authorities sent accident relief trains from Koraput and Visakhapatnam to the site to organise restoration operations.
Due to the derailment of the goods train, the train services were affected and six train services were canceled.
Divisional railway manager Anup Satpathy rushed to the site to monitor the restoration operations.
The restoration works were carried out on a war-footing basis.
After detaching the derailed coaches, the rare portion of the train was sent to its destination.
DRM was accompanied by ADRM (infra) Sudhir Kumar Gupta and other officials.
