Goa drug peddler held, has 160 customers from Hyderabad | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: A resident of Goa, who came to the city to deliver narcotics, was arrested by sleuths of the Hyderabad-Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-New) on Wednesday. He had partnered with a Kashmiri to peddle drugs, cops said.
Priteesh Narayan Borkar, 36, was caught at Habsiguda, said deputy commissioner of police (East Zone) G Chakravarthy. From him, police seized 20 ecstasy pills, five LSD blots, 4gm of MDMA, one phone and 4,000 cash.
Priteesh came to Hyderabad alone in a bus and he was waiting for a customer when police nabbed him based on a tip-off. “Priteesh had 600 customers. Police identified 160 persons among them who are residents of Hyderabad,” DCP said.
H-New inspector Rajesh said that for several persons from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh who go to Goa, Priteesh has been a common contact who supplies drugs. But he would travel to other places – during off-season period in Goa – to supply drugs only for a select group of people.
“Priteesh claimed this is his second visit to Hyderabad. From the last eight years, he has been selling drugs at Anjuna beach in Goa. The accused was caught by Panjim Narcotics Department in 2014,” police said.
Priteesh confessed the names of six persons from Goa — Thukaram Salgovkar, Vikas Naik, Ramesh Chowhan, Steve, Edwin Nunis and Sanja Gowekar — from whom he would buy narcotics at a lesser price and sell it to his customers at higher rates.
In Goa, Priteesh and his associate Manzoor Ahmed, who is a Kashmiri, would sell narcotics. The arrested accused, who is an Intermediate drop out, makes a living only through the sale of drugs.
