Droupadi Murmu | KCR: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to receive President Droupadi Murmu after snubbing PM twice | Hyderabad News
Though the CM receiving the President is normal protocol, KCR’s likely visit to the IAF station to welcome Murmu assumes significance in the backdrop of the BRS president staying away from the PM’s twin visits to the state.

President Droupadi Murmu
KCR and his party have been attacking the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre for over a year now. KCR even changed the name of his party from TRS to BRS firming up his national ambition of stitching up an anti-BJP alliance for 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The bickering with the Union government apart, the animosity between CM KCR and Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan – who will also be among those to receive the President – has only grown over the years.
Sources in the CMO, who said KCR will receive the President as per protocol, did not rule out the possibility of him submitting a memorandum, urging her to use her good offices to ensure “justice is done to Telangana and the central government releases the due share of funds to the newest state”.
Interestingly, the KCR-led party had supported opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha against Droupadi Murmu of BJP-led NDA in the Presidential election. After the launch of BRS and its national office in New Delhi, KCR receiving Murmu would send positive signals among Adivasis and the downtrodden, said a senior BRS leader.
The President is expected to reach Air Force Station, Hakimpet at 4.15pm on Monday and will stay at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum. She will visit the Ramappa temple in Mulugu district and Sitarama temple in Bhadrachalam.
