Crash & Pileup: Food Delivery Exec Crushed | Hyderabad News
While the food delivery executive, Sheik Naseer Hassan, 30, died on the spot, another biker, Abdul, suffered a fracture. Naseer, a Nampally resident, suffered critical head injuries after he was tossed into the air and fell a few feet away.
Naseer, who was on his way to deliver food, died within minutes of the crash at the IIIT-Wipro stretch. Occupants of the four cars and the tipper driver were also injured. Police shifted the injured to hospital with help from passersby.
“The speeding tipper first hit the cars and bikes and then rammed a lorry, which was veering to the left after the signal turned green. The tipper finally halted after hitting the lorry,” Gachibowli inspector G Suresh told reporters. The vehicles were wrecked in the impact and mangled parts lay scattered on the road. With cars sandwiched in the pileup, the trapped occupants had to be extricated out of the vehicles and taken to hospital.
The tipper driver was arrested after a breathalyser test. He was not found to be drunk. Cops are probing if the accident was caused by brake failure or rash driving.
