HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy on Friday announced that the members of party’s frontal organisations will lodge complaints against chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in as many police stations as possible for his comments seeking a new constitution.
Also, the Congress cadre led by its women members will wash the statues of BR Ambedkar with milk. Congress MPs from Telangana N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Revanth Reddy will stage a day-long dharna in the Parliament on Monday.
Revanth said this on Friday while addressing the concluding session of 48-hour deeksha organised by the TPCC SC Cell at Gandhi Bhavan. He offered lime juice to Congress SC Cell chairman Preetam and other leaders to break their 48-hour long fast. SC Cell national president Rajesh, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, working presidents J Geetha Reddy, M Anjan Kumar Yadav, political affairs committee convener Mohd Ali Shabbir, former union minister Balram Naik and other senior leaders participated in the deeksha.
“CM KCR and PM Narendra Modi want to change the Indian Constitution to emulate Xi, Putin and Kim Jong. Are Modi and KCR against the Constitution drafted by Ambedkar? All the Ambedkavadis should join hands to protect the Constitution. BJP leaders including its Telangana president Bandi Sanjay enacted a drama of protest in New Delhi and Hyderabad. BJP is in power at the Centre. If it really opposes KCR’s remarks, then why police cases have not been booked against KCR,” Revanth asked?
Telangana became a reality due to the Constitution the provisions of which gave powers of bifurcating a State under Article 3 to the Parliament. Is it not Ambedkar’s vision and the Constitution which facilitated the formation of Telangana state? KCR became chief minister due to the provisions of the Constitution.
The Congress will intensify its agitation until KCR withdraws his comments on the constitution.
Revanth announced a committee comprising senior leaders Bhatti Vikramarka, V Hanumanth Rao, Ponnala Lakhsmaiah, K Jana Reddy, S A Sampath Kumar, G Chinna Reddy, Ch Vamshi Chand Reddy among others to finalise the future course of agitation.
