Congress urges K T Rama Rao to postpone Teacher Eligibility Test to avoid clash with RRB exam | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: The Congress has urged municipal minister K T Rama Rao to use his good offices and ensure that the state government postpones the Teacher Eligibility Test (TEST as there is Railway Recruitment Board exam too on the same date (June 12).
Telangana Congress working president T Jayaprakash Jagga Reddy along with NSUI state president Balmoori Venkat and other members said repeated requests have also been made to education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy to postpone the TET but no decision has been taken.
Over three lakh students have applied for both RRB and TET exams and will miss one of them if TET is not postponed. The RRB notification was issued much before the date of TET was decided.
“How can the state government do injustice to the students and fix a date on which already another exam was notified. How can we ask the Railway Board to postpone the exam as they issued the notification much earlier than the TS TET,” asked Jagga Reddy?
The students have also tweeted to KTR urging him to postpone the TET and in turn KTR tweeted tagging the education minister to look into it. But there is no response from Sabitha Indra Reddy.
The Congress also urged the state government to allow students of intermediate senior vocational courses to appear for linemen jobs in the energy department.
