HYDERABAD: Hayathnagar police have registered a case against BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and others for insulting chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao at an event.
The event was held on June 2 on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day.
A local BJP leader, Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, was arrested in connection with the case on Friday and later he was released on bail.
According to police, at the event organised by Jitta Balakrishna Reddy and Rani Rudrama on June 2, BJP’s cultural team comprising of Daruvu Yellanna and others performed a skit insulting the Telangana CM and the same was telecasted on a TV news channel.
Based on the complaint of Y Satish Reddy, TRS social media convener, Hayathnagar police registered a case against Bandi Sanjay, Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, Rani Rudrama, Daruvu Yellanna and others under sections 114, 504, 505 (2) R/w 109 of the IPC.
Jitta Balakrishna Reddy was arrested at Ghatkesar.
