Bandi Sanjay says KCR cheated BCs, seeks white paper on funds | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay on Wednesday demanded that the state government release a white paper on funds released for the welfare of BCs.
Addressing the party rank and file during his Praja Sangrama padayatra in Munugode constituency, he said: “CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has cheated the BCs. The BCs population is more than 50 per cent in the state and they should get their rightful share in all spheres,” he said.
Saying that RTI replies he sought were proof of the negligence of the TRS government, Sanjay pointed out that not even 10 per cent allocated funds were spent on BCs.
According to him, though Rs 3,305 crore was allocated to the BC Corporation, only Rs 775 crore was spent. Only 50,000 BCs got loan facility for self-employment even though 5.70 lakh had applied for the loans. For instance, Valmiki Boya Corporation was allocated Rs 30.46 crore, but only Rs 5.98 crore was spent.
“Around 600 toddy tappers have died since 2014 and 4,000 have developed disabilities but the promise of providing them five acres of palm trees, pensions for those crossing 50 years and others remain unfulfilled,” he alleged.
The Karimnagar MP said that education sector was also given a short shrift with public universities facing fund and infrastructure crunch while a free run is given to private universities which do not meet the BC quota criteria.
