HYDERABAD: Hayathnagar police on Tuesday issued notice to BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar under Section 41-A of CrPC to appear before the investigation officer for allegedly insulting the chief minister at an event organised on June 2 in view of Telangana Formation Day.
Two other BJP leaders were arrested by police in connection with the case last week.
According to police, at the event organised by BJP leaders, Jitta Balakrishna Reddy and Rani Rudrama on June 2, BJP’s cultural team performed a skit insulting the chief minister of Telangana and the same was carried on a TV news channel.
Based on the complaint of Y Satish Reddy, TRS social media convener, Hayathnagar police registered a case against Bandi Sanjay, Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, Rani Rudrama, Daruvu Yellanna and others under sections 114, 504, 505 (2) R/w 109 of the IPC.
Jitta Balakrishna Reddy was arrested at Ghatkesar last week and later he was released on bail. On Tuesday police arrested Rani Rudrama and Daruvu Yellanna.
