Auto stocks: Stock market update: Auto stocks down; Maruti Suzuki sheds over 2%

Shares of Maruti Suzuki (down 2.43 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 1.38 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 1.01 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.83 per cent) and Bosch (down 0.45 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Hero MotoCorp (up 2.85 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 1.98 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.48 per cent), Bharat Forge (up 0.84 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.22 per cent down at 10920.4 around 01:31PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 91.85 points at 15221.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 355.81 points at 51748.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Central Bank Ind, Vodafone Idea, IOB and Bank of India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, IOB, Happiest Minds and Dr Lal Pathlabs hit their fresh 52week high in today’s trade, while Vera Synthetic, Jiya Eco Products, Sanwaria Consumer, We Win and Shri Ram Switchgears hit fresh 52week low in trade.
