Telangana: Cab vandalized as driver refuses to raise religious slogans | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: A cab driver of a particular community claimed that when he went to pick up a passenger from Alkapuri colony in Narsingi, 6 members resorted to vandalism of his car after the driver refused to raise religious slogans of another community.
He also claimed that when he called dial-100 in distress, there was an alleged delay in response from police.
According to the driver, when he was at Shaikpet, he was assigned a pick up from Alkapuri colony by his concerned cab aggregator.
When he was travelling in Alkapuri colony, his car was stopped by a few people. “They started banging on the window. When I opened, they demanded that I raise religious slogans (of another community). When I refused, they started to damage my car using stones. I escaped from the place by taking my mobile phone and hid myself in an isolated place. After some locals reached the place on hearing of the sound made during the damage to my car, it was then they left,” the car driver said.
“While being on the run from the attackers, I called dial-100 several times. Though the dial-100 authorities claimed that police would reach shortly, they arrived almost after an hour, when the attackers had fled,” he alleged.
The Rs 6,500 cash which was there in his car was allegedly missing. After the police reached the spot, the car driver said that the officials took photographs and asked him to come to the police station after 9 am.
Subsequently, Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjadullah Khan uploaded a video on social media of the driver explaining about the incident, which then came to light.
Narsingi inspector V Shiva Kumar said he was ignorant about the development and will get the facts verified.
“We will enquire and initiate legal action,” a senior officer from Cyberabad police said.
