congress: Congress doesn’t trust KCR, will continue agitation until last grain of paddy is procured: Revanth Reddy | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: The Congress will continue its agitation until the last grain of Yasangi paddy is procured from the farmers in Telangana although chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday announced the cabinet decision that the state government will purchase Yasangi paddy.
Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy said it is the continuous pressure exerted through agitations by the Congress and the proposed huge public meeting to be addressed by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the month end, that has led to KCR-led state cabinet taking a decision to procure paddy.
“As we don’t trust CM KCR and the ruling TRS, the Congress will continue the agitations and stand by the farmers until the last grain of paddy is procured by the state government. The ruling TRS will have to pay for its sins for unleashing the police on the protesting Congress members in which Karimnagar DCC president Satyanarayana was injured on Tuesday while demanding at a dharna that TRS government procure paddy,” Revanth said.
AICC campaign committee state unit chairman Madhu Yashki Goud found fault with KCR-led TRS government for playing with the lives of farmers by delaying to announce its decision to procure Yasangi paddy.
“If the TRS government finally wanted to procure Yasangi paddy, why did it lay so much drama of holding a dharna even in New Delhi. It could have avoided the confusion, anxiety and the worry among the farmers by not playing the drama. Both the TRS and BJP governments are responsible for the reported and unreported deaths of farmers due to suspense over procurement of paddy all these days,” he alleged.
