Hyderabadis treated to spectacular air shows at Wings India 2022 | Hyderabad News

One of Asia’s biggest civil aviation shows, Wings India 2022, jointly organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) was held at the Begumpet airport recently. In line with ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)’, the four-day event had ‘India@75: New Horizon for Aviation Industry’ as its theme. The Sarang display team of the Indian Air Force, with their modified Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH), stood as a highlight during the event. The display team performed breathtaking formations and manoeuvres in the sky.

In addition, the arena had exhibitions, panel discussions, roundtables and demonstrations connected to the aviation industry. The general public got a taste of the show and a mesmerising flying display by the Sarang team on the last two days of the event. After the air show, a cultural evening was organised where visitors were treated to Indian classical and folk performances. The cultural performances included a beautiful Odissi dance by Odissi Nrutya Mandal, Cuttack, under the guidance of Ashis Kumar Das, melodious Hindustani music by Pandurang Mutalik and team, and an energetic Oggu Dolu folk dance by 30 artistes from Karimnagar. The Wings India Awards were conferred upon aviation-related organisations that have created benchmarks and made notable contributions to India’s civil aviation. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of Civil Aviation; Rajiv Bansal, Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and former FICCI President and businesswoman Sangita Reddy presented the awards.
