Tamil Nadu govt directs NHM to pay off salary arrears of Amma mini-clinic doctors | Chennai News

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has directed the National Health Mission to pay off the salary arrears of Amma mini clinic doctors and multipurpose health workers recruited for the scheme.
The scheme, launched by the AIADMK government after the first wave of Covid-19, was scrapped by the DMK government. But the health staff under the scheme still have salary arrears of up to three months.
In a government order dated March 15, health secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan directed the NHM’s mission director to meet the contract payment of the medical officers and multipurpose health workers under the ECRP (Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness) II funds and regular funds for human resources.
