4 arrested for theft at employer’s villa | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Kollur police on Wednesday arrested four persons, including a maid servant, for stealing 75 tolas of gold and Rs 6.50 lakh cash from the villa of their employer last month.
Deputy commissioner of police (Madhapur zone) G Vineet said the theft took place when the employer had gone out of station leaving her two workers at the villa. By the time she returned from Delhi, the valuables went missing and she lodged a complaint.She pointed fingers at her servant Prabhakar Mallik in her complaint.
A police team picked up Prabhakar and three other accused – Tapan Das, Sachindra Das and Deepu – from Gopanpally and interrogated them. “Prabhakar said he saw his employer often taking out the gold and other valuables from the cupboard.
He hatched a conspiracy to steal them when his employer goes out of station,” police said. Prabhakar distributed the stolen wealth to his three associates. Except Sachindra, all the remaining accused went off to their native states. On Monday, the accused returned to Gopanpally, when police nabbed them. From the accused police seized 963 grams of gold and Rs 2.90 lakh cash.
