2 held for 18 property offences, murder case pending against 1 in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: City police busted a two-member gang of burglars, which recently committed more than 18 offences across the city. The accused are being interrogated to recover the stolen property. One of the offenders was wanted in a murder case.
During the early hours of January 25, the two offenders broke into eight locked houses and offices in LB Nagar area. The accused escaped with eight tola gold, 20 tola silver, two laptops and a few cellphones. Based on the complaints lodged by the house owners, police registered five cases.
In the last one month , they have committed 18 property offences at Chandanagar, Kukatpally, Alwal and LB Nagar in Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates.
Clues team collected fingerprints from the crime scenes and the search in database has revealed that the two suspects are old offenders from Hubli in Karnataka and from Fateh Nagar in Balanagar respectively. CCTV footage gathered from different places also confirmed about the involvement of the suspects.
Even as Rachakonda police teams launched a manhunt for the offenders, Hyderabad Task Force team nabbed the duo from their hideout in Karkhana area of Secunderabad.
The property stolen by the duo in LB Nagar offences has been recovered from the duo and during the preliminary interrogation, police found out that the two offenders have a criminal record.
Police also realised that in 2016 the accused were convicted in a case registered at SR Nagar police station. According to police sources, non-bailable warrants (NBWs) are pending against at least one of the accused at Gopalapuram police station in a murder case and at Osmania University police station in a Pocso Act case.
The accused are reportedly being grilled to gather more information about the offences they have committed and the property receivers to recover the stolen items.
