Kurnool DSP KV Mahesh told reporters that Kummari Aruna (23), her paramour Mulakala Surya Pradeep (26) and his friend N Jeevan Kumar (26), were arrested by the police on charges of murdering Aruna’s husband G Amos (26).
Kummari Aruna and Amos who belonged to different castes, got married to each other in 2016. But because Aruna was a minor at that point of time, she was admitted to a home and Amos was sent to the prison under the POSCO Act, following a complaint lodged by Aruna’s parents.
But after a few years when Aruna turned major, the duo got married and were living at Alwal village until a year ago and later shifted to Kurnool and settled at Udyog Nagar locality. They have a four year old son named Akhil.
Aruna who was leading a disturbed life due to the physical and mental harassment meted out to her by her husband, slowly developed an extramarital relationship with her husband’s friend Mulakala Surya Pradeep and the duo recently plotted to kill Amos.
According to their plan, Surya Pradeep invited Amos for drinks and tool him to an isolated location near Sareen Nagar on December 22nd night and when Amos was in a highly inebriated state, Surya Pradeep and his friend Jeevan killed Amos using a rod. Later they burnt his body and left the place.
Following a complaint lodged by Amos’s father G Chinna Narasanna, the Kurnool IV town police who took up investigation into the case, arrested Aruna, Surya Pradeep and Jeevan and the trio confessed to their involvement in the murder.
