Two CISF jawans die by suicide in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota in 24 hours | Vijayawada News
VIJAYAWADA: Two CISF jawans died by suicide within 24 hours in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
While one jawan identified as Vikas Singh (33), who was on duty at the Sriharikota Space Launch Center in Nellore district, shot himself with his service revolver on Monday night, in the morning another jawan, Chintamani (29) hanged himself to death from a tree in the center.
While Chintamani hails from Chhattisgarh state and works at Radar Centre, Vikas Singh is a native of Bihar state.
Sriharikota police told TOI that two jawans took the extreme step due to their personal problems. However, police denied commenting on the allegation that it happened because of the harassment from their senior officials.
Locals police have registered a case and took up an investigation. Reportedly Central Industrial Security Force officials are also probing the issue.
