TRS leader’s son, friend held for gangrape of 20-year-old in Telangana | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Kodad police have apprehended both the accused, including a local TRS leader’s son, in the 20-year-old woman’s gangrape case.
According to police, the two 25-year-old accused are classmates and they also live in the same lane of Kodad town. The duo knew the woman well as her family lives in a nearby lane.
Police said that while the accused were unemployed, the survivor is a worker. Her mother is a widow and she works as a domestic help.
After the woman approached police alleging that for two days, from Friday afternoon, she was confined in a room of one of the accused and raped repeatedly by the two, a case was booked.
“The woman alleged that initially she was with one of the accused, who has been her friend, and it was on his invitation she went to his room to celebrate his birthday. The survivor alleged that during the party, the accused offered her a drink laced with an unknown sedative and raped her. Subsequently, his friend also joined the assault later in the night and the duo continued to assault her on Saturday, too,” a Kodad police official said.
On Sunday afternoon, the victim regained consciousness and went home. She approached police on Monday. Police sent the clothes of the victim also for forensic analysis and, based on her complaint, both the accused have been taken into custody.
Police were questioning the accused to gather more evidence about the assault. Cops were likely to show their arrest on Wednesday.
