TRS govt has left farmers worried with Dharani portal: Telangana Congress | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy of the Congress on Monday said the TRS government has failed to resolve the errors that crept into the Dharani portal due to which there is a threat of many farmers committing suicide.
Addressing meetings in villages of Suryapet district as part of Raithu Rachabanda and Rythu Bharosa Yatra, which entered 15th day on Monday, Uttam said the Dharani portal is proving to be a bane rather than boon for the farmers.
He alleged that TRS leaders were trying to take advantage of the discrepancies and glitches in the Dharani portal to claim ownership of land owned and possessed by farmers. Some of the farmers attempted suicide and are now undergoing treatment at RIMS, Adilabad, he alleged.
Terming Dharani portal a failure, Uttam said the portal has created problems and disputes. The small and marginal farmers were badly hit due to Dharani and there are allegations that the disputes over land ownership forced many farmers to end their lives, he said.
Stating that the Congress will stand by the farmers and fight until the Dharani portal is banned, Uttam sought to remind the farmers that the Warangal Declaration, unveiled by AICC leader Rahul Gandhi on May 6, promises to ban the Dharani portal when Congress is voted to power.
