Telangana: TRS MLA’s son was in SUV that killed toddler | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Nearly 48 hours after an SUV sporting a TRS MLA sticker allegedly killed a toddler at Jubilee Hills Road No. 45, the local police arrested a student after he surrendered before the police.
The officials claimed that at the time of accident there were three persons seated inside the car, which includes Bodhan MLA Shakil Aamir Mohammed’s son Raheel Aamir.
At a press conference on Saturday, assistant commissioner of police (Banjara Hills) M Sudharshan said that Afnan Ahmed, 19, was driving the vehicle whereas Raheel was seated next to the driver’s seat. The other person, Mohammed Maaz, was seated on the rear seat.
Contrary to what Shakil said through his video statement from Dubai, police declared that all the three youngsters are friends. Shakil earlier claimed that the vehicle belongs to his cousin and the accident took place when his cousin and his family members were travelling.
Surprisingly, Raheel was not questioned by the police and they claimed that he is yet to be traced.
“After the driver, Afnan, surrendered, we compared his fingerprints on the steering and they matched,” police said.
Before the accident, all the three members started their journey from Film Nagar and went to Inorbit mall. They spent time at a prominent eatery before starting their journey towards Jubilee Hills Road No. 45, where the accident took place.
A toddler was killed and four other persons were injured in the accident.
After the accident, all three persons fled to different locations and the driver was roughed up by the locals. Police traced the routes in which they fled by verifying the mobile phone location of the three persons.
