Telangana records 279 new Covid cases | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: Seeing another upswing in Covid-19 cases, Telangana recorded 279 new cases on Friday, even as the number of active cases shot up to 1,781. The current positivity rate is 1%. The total count of cases recorded so far in the state stands at 7,95,572. The death toll remained at 4,111 on Friday, as no death has been recorded for over three months now.
A total of 119 patients were declared recovered, taking the total tally of recoveries so far to 7,89,680. The recovery rate currently stands at 99.26%, while the fatality rate stands at 0.51%.
On Friday, a total of 27,841 samples were tested. Telangana has completed testing 3.52 crore samples and has reached 9.47 lakh sample testing per million population. “It is important to complete vaccination and take precautions,” said the health department.
